PayPal is one of the most popular ways to send money to friends, family, and vendors, via its mobile app or website.
If you’re sending cash to a friend or family member, you may not have to pay any fees. All you need is your friend’s email address, phone number, or PayPal username, plus a connected bank account or credit or debit card.
Here’s how to send cash via PayPal, the iPhone and Android mobile app, or the desktop website.
1. Launch the app and log in.
2. On the home page, there is a toolbar at the back of the screen. Tap “Send,” which will be the option on the left.
3. Enter the email address or phone number of the user you want to send cash to. Part of the page will be filled with your contacts, which are other people who you have already sent cash to or won cash.
4. Enter the amount of cash you want to send. If you tap the little arrow below the amount, you can replace the currency you want to send your cash in. Tap “Next” to check the amount you want to send.
5. On the next page, you can make sure everything related to your cash movement is correct, upload a note, and the payment method you should use.
6. Tap “Ship Now” and your move will be complete.
1. Launch your browser, go to https://www. paypal. com and log in.
2. Once you’ve signed in, locate “Send & Request” in the menu at the top of the page and click it.
3. In the text box, enter the email address, username, or phone number of the user you want to send cash to.
4. A pop-up menu will ask if the cash is being sent to a friend or supplier. Be sure to “Send to a Friend” – this is free.
5. Use the textbox once again to type in the amount you want to send. You can also add a note at the bottom to specify what the money is for, or send it as a gift. Tap “Continue” when you’re done.
6. PayPal will automatically apply the payment method you want. If the payment method you like doesn’t match the one you need to use for this transaction, “Change Payment Method” before proceeding.
7. After reviewing the recipient’s information, payment amount, and the payment method you like, choose “Send Payment Now”. Once sent, you will receive a confirmation email and the quote will be immediately available in the recipient’s PayPal account.
