Statewide gaming gross revenue has also increased by about 40% year-over-year, while DraftKings and FanDuel account for 87% of that overall harvest.
July is known for its sparse sports calendar and limited betting menu. Sports betting in Kansas, as in many other legal sports betting states, reached its monthly low point in July 2023, and according to the most recent figures released through the Kansas Lottery, this year will be no different.
Kansas Sports achieved its second-worst overall result of 2024 (7. 54%) and generated $9. 199 billion in revenue.
May and June were the months of the year when Kansas sportsbooks maintained a double-digit share percentage.
However, July’s profit was not the lowest of the year, down a measly 4. 2% from February, generating only $8. 46 million for traders, despite $203. 0 million that month.
State coffers collected $919,947 in tax contributions, $5,237 of which came from Kansas sportsbooks.
Not surprisingly, processing and earnings declined month-over-month by up 12. 9% and 1. 8%, respectively. The silver lining is that the Kansas sports market is developing overall, as it achieved considerable year-over-year gains in either category, topping out with a 53. 1% increase in control and a 34. 7% increase in profits.
Kansas sportsbooks have also collected more than $100 million in monthly bets since September 2023, although the amount has decreased month-over-month since March.
Kansas Governor Laura Kelly recently signed House Bill 2001, authorizing her state to offer the NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs and MLB’s Kansas City Royals incentives for allocation of stadiums to cross the state border. Some of the tax cuts may simply come from Kansas sports revenue, while neighboring Missouri still lacks a legal sports market.
There are four retail sportsbooks in Kansas, operated through DraftKings, FanDuel, ESPN BET, and Caesars.
These four sites raked in a total of $3. 23 million in retail bets, with ESPN BET’s venue at Hollywood Casino accounting for $2. 26 million of that haul, or just about 70%. The DraftKings and FanDuel sites alone reported earnings totaling $52,372 for the month.
The genuine action takes place at Kansas’ six online sports sites, where $118. 8 million worth of bets were settled in July, generating $9. 15 million in profits for operators.
BetMGM enjoyed the group’s share, with its 11. 3% win rate generating $964,426 in profits out of a total of $8. 51 million.
DraftKings and FanDuel were the only two online sports sites in Kansas to achieve eight-figure revenues and seven-figure revenues.
DraftKings is by far the most productive of the group in terms of management, now with more than half a billion dollars in activity since the beginning of the year.
