LGBTQ Travel Website Provides Community and Safety for Gay Tourists

SAN FRANCISCO (KPIX) — A tech startup is looking to help make the LGBTQ network safer with a platform described as the world’s largest short-term vacation rental marketplace for gays.

MisterBandB. com It has one million hosts in countries around the world, all of whom have proven to be LGBTQ-friendly.

A San Francisco anchor told CBS News Bay Area that he likes to offer a safe space for LGBTQ tourists.

Joaquin Aran has been living in his house in San Francisco for 3 years.

“I love my neighbors. I love my neighborhood,” Arana said.

His love for traveling safely as a gay man and his love for the Bay Area is why he sought to host the website. More than a million LGBTQ travelers can not only find accommodations on the site, but they can also engage with locals for protection tips and planning trips and activities.

“She reacted badly and we decided to leave. And on the way back to the airport, that’s how I created Mr. B and B,” said founder Jost. The foreign traveler and businessman now lives in Paris, France.

The online page is backed by investors and hosts such as Arana, who also uses the site for himself.

“We traveled to Norway, the Philippines, Taiwan, Portugal and India,” Arana said.

He admitted that traveling can be dangerous in some states and countries if you are gay.

“There are places where politics and other people are not necessarily aligned. There are other people who welcome LGBTQ communities,” Arana explained.

He says it’s about locating a network in other parts of the world.

“In those places, our citizens want to be supported. They want to be noticed and they also want to see that they want to see us. The world wants to see that we have families, jobs and that we are at home,” Arana. saying.
