GRAND FORKS – The Great Plains Food Bank has announced dates and locations for its summer meals program for youth, a plan for Emerado Pantry, which begins Monday, June 3.
Meals are scheduled to be distributed at the pantry, 208 Main Street in Emeraldo, from 4:30 p. m. to 6 p. m. every Monday until August 12.
On this site, young people up to the age of 18 can receive one box lunch per hour of distribution.
The Great Plains Food Bank’s Summer Youth Meals Program was created to provide food assistance to youth during the summer months when school breakfast and lunch systems are not available.
Other communities where food distribution sites will be opened include: Cannon Ball, Crosby, Carrington, Dickinson, Fargo, Jamestown, Lisbon and Williston. Each network has one site, Jamestown, which has six.
The Fargo-based Great Plains Food Bank is now in its 41st year of operation and is the only food bank in North Dakota. Its network of partners includes 200 food pantries, shelters, soup kitchens, and other charitable food systems operating in 99 communities. throughout the state and in Clay County, Minnesota.
