MANASSAS (ABC7) – ABC 7’s I team learned that Tuesday’s death at Reinhart Foods in Virginia is at least the second death at the company in eight years, and has paid about $70,000 in fines for violations since 2011.

Reinhart Food Service, according to its website, has 29 locations from Boston to New Orleans. It is considered one of the largest food sellers in the country. In 2008, a man was murdered at a distribution center in central Pennsylvania. According to media reports, the guy controlling the air tension between two trailers when he got caught between them and suffocated. There’s no one to help him. The guy died about an hour before he was found.
In analyzing the company, the I-Team also found that in the past five years, Reinhart has been cited by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 29 times for office violations, totaling $67,000 in fines. It’s the company.
The Manassas site, where Tuesday’s death occurred, was inspected in July 2015 after OSHA won a complaint on protective grounds, but no wrongdoing was found.
