Chongqing, which is stepping up its efforts to popularize its products in overseas markets, on Saturday highlighted the first organization of six logo sectors in which it has a competitive advantage.
In the launch rite of Chongqing Brands’ global promotion, it was announced that the southwest Chinese municipality plans to announce its role as a foreign communication hub in central and western China, a destination for investment and studies, and a hub for the automotive industry. In recent years, Chinese brands have gained increasing popularity among foreign consumers. According to Kantar BrandZ’s 2023 “Chinese Global Brand Builders” report, the reputation of Chinese corporations “internationally” has been boosted through product innovations and development.
Chongqing, with a population of 32 million, was the country’s fourth-largest municipality in 1997 after Beijing, Shanghai and Tianjin. It covers 82,402 square kilometers, making it the largest of the four.
Located on the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, the city enjoys a key geographical location as a strategic pivot point for the national progress systems of China’s western regions and the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle. Over the weekend, foreign diplomats from nine countries, including Argentina, Germany and Singapore, learned more about the progress of the country’s western region and explored business opportunities with a stopover in the city.
“Argentina and China have enjoyed a very close relationship over the past half-century, and we look forward to strengthening those relations and expanding industry and investment,” said Marcelo Suarez Salvia, Argentina’s ambassador to China.
Cooperation between the provinces of Argentina and Chongqing in areas such as education and fitness has deepened, he added.
