When you think of the UK, there are many cities to visit.
But do you have a favorite when it comes to nightlife, restaurants, or attractions in general?
Well, it turns out that Britons voted for their favorite British city and the capital lost this year. That’s according to a recent YouGov poll, which found York came out on top with a staggering 74% of the vote.
According to the York Tourist Office, just under 3 million people visited the city. There’s plenty to see and do during your stay: the National Railway Museum, York Castle, and York Ministry are just a few of the attractions, to name a few.
York received $8. 9 million in the city in 2022, of which $1. 2 million came from overseas.

It’s no surprise that York came out in the most sensible spot, as it’s the most “friendly” post in the UK according to the online site Restless. co. uk.
Let’s not forget that York has also been rated as one of the most “welcoming” cities in the world through Booking. com.
These are the most popular cities in the UK, according to YouGov.

The study also found that 63% of people had only a positive opinion of London.
Overall, the capital fell to third place in the ranking. In fact, 17% of participants even went so far as to say they didn’t like the city and 20% said they had no opinion about London at all.
This comes after London was ranked as a city in Europe for 2024 by Resonance Consultancy last month.
The report states: “For a year in a row, London ideally reigns supreme over all European cities. Despite crippling Covid lockdowns and economic devastation. Despite Brexit. Despite a war in Europe.
“The city is a priority location for students, foreign investors and tourists, all eager to get back on track and occupy a position that tops our 3 global indices: livability, friendliness and prosperity. “
