TSMC is “full speed ahead” to conduct a production test of its first production line in mid-April at its new production facility in Arizona, United States, where, if those tests go well, mass production at the Arizona plant is expected to end by the end of the year.
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) said its wafer production plant in Arizona is progressing well, as expected. The company is expected to hold a press conference on April 18 to provide more details on the actual progress of the Arizona plant.
TSMC’s new production facility, founded in the United States, will begin mass production of new 4nm procedure nodes in the first part of 2025, when the Arizona plant is fully operational. The new Arizona lab will produce wafers of the same quality as its Taiwan-founded facility.
It is expected to take more than six months from trial production to mass production, with one month for verification. So, if the first phase of the new production plant goes well, that schedule will be maintained.
