Cala Homes has plans of £5. 5 million to build dozens of new homes at the demolished Silverburn House in Bridge of Don.
The developer has submitted a structural mandate to Aberdeen City Council outlining the cost of a 55-unit site.
This comes years after the questionable demolition of the former Baker Hughes base on the Claymore Drive site, across from the former AECC.
After the oil and fuel company moved into Dyce, it demolished the new owners to avoid paying prorated fees on construction with little advertising future.
Parklands View then submitted plans for a primary development, 119 homes and apartments and “potentially” shops, offices and restaurants on the site.
These plans were approved by the Board in 2022.
But since then, citizens have become increasingly impatient with the lack of progress.
Just a few weeks ago they told us about their thoughts that they had “a landfill”.
We have raised developing considerations that since the building permit is set to expire in 2025, the housing plan may never come to fruition.
But now new developers have arrived with a new feature for the Silverburn House site.
A spokesperson for Cala Homes (North) added: “Cala has been building communities in Bridge of Don for many years and we are exploring other opportunities in the area.
“Silverburn House is one of several strategies we’ve been considering lately.
“Details will be published in due course if this proposal moves forward. “
The construction mandate states that the £5. 5 million value would cover a set of townhouses and townhouses, as well as related infrastructure.
