NEWS. . . BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT
This article contains spoilers for Tuesday’s (19 March) EastEnders, which has yet to be broadcast on TV and can now be watched on BBC iPlayer.
After all, EastEnders gave us an update on Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) following her sudden departure earlier this year.
Sharon fled Albert Square to stay with her friend Michelle Fowler in Australia, following the murder of Keanu Taylor.
It all became too complicated for Sharon when she learned that the Six were going to have to bury Keanu’s body, and she ran before he could stop her.
A few days later, Martin Fowler (James Bye) left to sign up for her after learning that his sister Michelle was going to have a hysterectomy.

In more recent scenes, Martin returned to the square earlier than expected and Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) sought information about Sharon’s well-being.
Martin revealed that Sharon had been “everywhere” when she arrived in Australia, but told Kathy, relieved, that she is much better now.
He explained how she came up with the idea for him to return to Walford earlier, but revealed that she planned to stay in Australia a little longer.
Of course, what Kathy wanted to know was whether Sharon had revealed the secret of her murder, but Martin still didn’t seem any wiser.
Fans have been eagerly awaiting Sharon’s return for weeks, with some even trying to figure out when her passport will run out to get an idea of when to expect her return.
In a behind-the-scenes video, actress Denise Fox Diane Parish showed that the Six will soon be back together.
