LuCretia’s Kitchen moved to a new home in Old Louisville.
The deep-fried fish and soul food restaurant, known for its motto “Love in the First Bite,” reopened its doors in a physical area at 617 W. Oak St. , the former site of Daddy Rich’s. It’s also the original location of Seafood Lady, which recently closed its NuLu area.
After years of selling out-of-home dining, Lucretia Thompson opened her eponymous restaurant and restaurant business in 2015 at Chef Space, the kitchen incubator at 812 W Muhammad Ali Blvd.
LuCretia’s Kitchen began serving to-go orders last year at 617 W. Oak St. , near North Lime Coffee.
“I’m very excited about this opportunity,” Thompson said in a news release. “I’ve been looking high and low for the best position and I’m fortunate to still be able to be home. “
Thompson added that LuCretia’s Kitchen “represents 3 generations of Thompson barbecues. “
With the reopening, Soul Food Sundays return, where a wide variety of dishes are available, including fried chicken, meatloaf, roasted red meat cutlets, ribs, prime rib tips and brisket, plus sides like macaroni and cheese. , homemade Southern kale, cabbage, and sweet potatoes.
