Putin vows to punish Ukraine for tarnishing Russia’s presidential election

MOSCOW, Russia (Reuters) – Russian President Vladimir Putin accused Ukraine on Friday of trying to disrupt Russia’s presidential election by shelling Russian territory and 2,500 armed troops to try to violate his country’s borders, and vowed to punish Kyiv for its actions. The first day of the election was also marked by disruptions: dye poured into the ballot box, a Molotov cocktail thrown at a polling station in Putin’s hometown, and reported cyberattacks. Millions of Russians have put their attractions in the city.
