PlayStation Plus free games for February 2024 update: full list revealed

Published updated on 31. 01. 24; See updates below.

In February 2023, Sony announced that the PlayStation Plus collection would be phased out in May. The two sleep games (roughly) that all PS5 owners who subscribed to PlayStation Plus earned as part of an extra bonus would no longer be offered, anyone claims. Before the ninth of May they will still be able to access them.

Sony also announced an excellent lineup of free-to-play games for PS Plus Essential (and above) subscribers, including Evil Dead: The Game, OlliOlli World, Destiny 2: Beyond Light, and Mafia: Definitive Edition. It was one of the most productive months of the year, made even bigger by a very good lineup of PS Plus Extra titles at the end of the month, adding Horizon: Forbidden West, Resident Evil Biohazard, The Quarry, Scarlet Nexus, Borderlands 3 and Outriders.

At least one of them will leave PS Plus in February.

But enough about the past. Let’s communicate about the future. Read on to find out everything we know about PS Plus free games for February 2024.

PS Plus is Sony’s monthly club program that offers online gaming. You don’t want them to stream videos or TV shows on Netflix and other services, nor do you want them to play free-to-play games like Warzone or Fortnite. However, it’s all online payment. Games require a subscription.

There are three PS Plus tiers: Essential, Extra, and Premium, but for the purposes of this article, we’re only looking at the free monthly games in the Essential tier. Following a sharp price increase earlier this year, those tiers cost: PS Plus Essential: $79. 99/year; PS Plus Extra: $134. 99/year; PS Plus Premium: $159. 99/year.

Sony shows off the following month’s games on the last Wednesday of the month, although this is rarely the case. The general rule is that new programming comes out on the first Tuesday of the month and games are revealed the Wednesday before.

This means that we should get an official announcement on Wednesday the 31st of January, 2024 with the games rolling out on Tuesday, February 6th. You’ll still be able to access January’s games—A Plague Tale: Requiem, Evil West and Nobody Saves the World—until that Tuesday. It’s a really strong lineup so don’t forget to claim those titles!

We know what one of next month’s monthly PS Plus games will be: Foamstars, a 4v4 online multiplayer game where players compete against each other in a contest called Foamsmash. It looks a lot like a frothy edition of Nintendo’s Splatoon, a competitive game. Paint-based shooter. Here’s the trailer:

Beyond that, your guess is the same as mine! There haven’t been any other leaks or rumors, but I think something like Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag would make sense given the imminent release of Ubisoft’s new pirate game, Skull.

Update 1. 31. 24

Sony has unveiled the new free PS Plus Essential games for February. The one I mentioned earlier, Foamstars, is visibly making headlines for next month’s games, but there are two others that are quite interesting. I’ve played either one and I think either one is perfect. Appreciate it, especially since they are loose!

Steelrising is a “Souls-like” game set in a fictional Paris in 1789. The French Revolution was stopped by Louis XVI and his army of automatons. You play as Aegis, battling the evil king’s diabolical mechanical contraptions in an enchanting 18th century. Century Parisian setting XIX. Es a bit steampunk and challenging. A pretty good gift, that’s for sure!

If you took a funky, old-fashioned artistic taste and combined it with curling skating to turn it into a funky arena shooter, you’d have Rollerdrome. It’s a very unique name and definitely worth a try, especially if you’re a fan of curling skating. Artistic taste is fostered through the works of Jean Henri Gaston Giraud – aka Moebius – who worked in the culture of Franco-Belgian comics or comedians. The bizarre post-apocalyptic game Saber also used this kind of artistic taste. It’s great!

On top of that, PS Plus members will receive exclusive Fall Guys skins, and later this month, they’ll have a two-hour free trial of Spider-Man 2. Not bad!
