Announcing a new pop-up recommendation in Dudley after the good luck of the first location

A new pop-up referral service is being tested as environmental officials look to expand the service.

The new service from Dudley City Council comes after the existing fortnightly Lister Road facility proved hugely popular with residents, with around six hundred visits a month.

Plans have been set for the new Sedgley facility to run monthly on a trial basis, giving residents access to another location in the north of the borough, with the tip in Stourbridge to run as normal.

The new one will open at Northway Depot, which will be used by the Dudley Council’s street scene staff.

Councillor Damian Corfield, Roads and Environment Cabinet Member, said: “The Lister Road Pop-Up Council has been incredibly popular and we see so many other people visiting us every time.

“I’m very happy to have made this offer to the north of the township bigger at our Northway depot. This means that other people now have more opportunities and options possible to dispose of their waste and take advantage of our recycling. facilities.

The first pop-up at the Northway site will be held on Saturday, Feb. 17 and other people will deliver combined general waste, bricks and debris, scrap metal, wood, yard waste, and recycled parts such as paper, cars, and glass. and plastic.

Councillor Corfield continued: “If you add the Stourbridge landfill to the mix, you will see that we have more recycling opportunities than most other councils and our citizens will be extremely happy to see that.

“If this trial is successful, we will look to expand it to a permanent offering. “

People will not be allowed to bring car batteries, tires, oils, paints, textiles and fuel bottles. Access to any of the sites will be by car only, no trailers or vans will be allowed. Individuals with trailers or vans will need to apply for a permit to use Stourbridge Point.

The Lister Road pop-up board airs every first and third Saturday of the month from 8 a. m. to 4 p. m. m. to 3:30 p. m. m.
