The Mecklenburg County Environmental Health Division is guilty of tracking herbaceous and man-made environments that have an effect on human health.
This table includes inspections of food service institutions.
The department reports that there are more than 4,400 food service institutions operating in the county lately. Although that number continues to rise each day, county officials conduct about 13,000 facility inspections a year, according to the county’s website.
Those inspection records eventually get uploaded to the division’s Food and Facilities Inspections site where the public can review for free the inspection scores of their favorite Charlotte restaurants.
Here are some tips for considering the effects of the inspection on the county’s website.
If you’d rather avoid particular restaurants, you can remove search effects through scoring by clicking on the drop-down menu that says “Score. “
Restaurants can earn “A,” “B,” or “C” grades. Here is the scoring scale used by county inspectors:
R: 90
B: 80-89. 5
C: 70-79.5
Under state law, entry permits are revoked if an eating place scores less than 70 percent.
The county inspection includes scores for more than 100 types of institutions that serve food, including restaurants, food trucks, schools and hotels.
If you want to check the effects of your child’s school inspection or make sure a local hotel meets the cleanliness criteria before booking, stay there, just use the drop-down menu that says “Property Type. “
When looking up inspection records for an express restaurant, it may be helpful not to include the word “the” that precedes the restaurant’s name.
For example, when searching for inspection records that belong to a restaurant called “The Mad Greek,” nothing comes up when typing in the full name of the restaurant. However, once you shorten your search item to just “Mad Greek,” the desired results are populated.
If you need to eat at restaurants that have been recently inspected, you can clear searches for restaurants that have been inspected within an express time period, such as in the last 3 months or last week.
To clear the dates, select the “Inspection Date” drop-down menu and then select the diversity of dates from which you need to view the inspection records.
One of the optional fields found when searching for fitness inspection records through the inspection control formula is the zip code. This is especially useful if you’re researching the effects of fitness inspections of restaurant chains that have multiple locations in the area.
The inspection also gives you the option to remove effects across the city, making it simple to visualize restaurants in the city where you live.
