XI’AN, China, Dec. 27, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — “Get to know China through dialogue with Shaanxi” — A themed fair aimed at promoting mutual learning among civilizations and sharing the charm of Shaanxi, held at the Shaanxi Archaeological Museum on December 25.

At the salon, more than 50 Chinese and foreign guests, including experts, scholars, foreign media journalists and youth representatives, had in-depth exchanges on how to tell the Shaanxi story well and enhance mutual learning between Chinese and other civilizations.

Domestic and foreign visitors shared their perspectives and discussed the theme of the occasion according to their respective fields.

Shinkai Norihiro, Tokyo News’ China bureau director in Japan, told the story of the adventure of the terracotta warriors in Japan, and the Japanese people’s love for terracotta warriors and the culture of Shaanxi.

Mehad Mousa, an Egyptian professor at Northwestern University, shared her studies on understanding Shaanxi with the attendees and presented her story on how to translate Shaanxi Jia Pingwa’s purposeful prose and other Shaanxi literary works into Arabic.

Ghafurova Mijgonakhon, a Tajik student at Xi’an University of International Studies, shared her joy and emotions through cultural exchange activities such as the Belt and Road International Student Culture and Art Festival.

And many other young people from the house shared their stories of involvement in Shaanxi’s cultural communication in other fields.

The event’s participants also visited the Shaanxi Archaeological Museum. With a close touch of prehistoric pottery shards and observation of the archaeological sites, they can deeply understand the history behind cultural relics, and feel how technology can empower cultural relics protection.

As the first museum committed to archaeology in China, the Shaanxi Archaeological Museum combines cultural relics with the background of excavations to interpret from an archaeological perspective. It describes the progression of Chinese archaeology and Shaanxi archaeology and presents the general characteristics of the diversified integration of Chinese civilization.
