The latest between Ukraine and Russia: a “Russian missile” penetrates Polish airspace for 3 minutes; 30 killed in “massive” attack in Ukraine

A Russian diplomat says Poland has provided some evidence of what Warsaw considers a violation of its airspace via a Russian missile.

“Several” airborne targets were shot down by anti-aircraft equipment in Russia’s southern Belgorod region, its governor said.

One user was killed and another injured in the incidents, Vyacheslav Gladkov said on Telegram.

At least 30 civilians were killed in what the Ukrainian air force said was the largest airlock of the war.

Russia has introduced 122 missiles and dozens of drones against targets in Ukraine, according to officials.

Poland has provided evidence that a Russian missile briefly entered its airspace, the Kremlin’s deputy ambassador said.

Russian chargés d’affaires – quoted by the state news agency RIA – convened through the Polish Foreign Ministry.

The Polish Deputy Foreign Minister summoned the Russian chargé d’affaires (deputy ambassador) over the alleged violation of Polish airspace through what Warsaw considers a Russian missile.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Friday that he visited Avdiivka in eastern Ukraine, where Russian forces are launching ferocious attacks in an effort to encircle the embattled town.

“We discussed the defense scenario and fundamental wishes with the commander,” he said on Telegram. The president said he also presented medals to the soldiers.

Kremlin forces have intensified their attacks on the city in recent months, after Ukraine’s counteroffensive against entrenched Russian defenses slowed over the summer.

Much of Avdiivka has been razed to the ground, reminiscent of the protracted and bloody fighting for the city of Bakhmut, which fell to Russian forces in May.

An unknown object that entered Polish airspace on Friday morning and then disappeared from radar is likely a Russian missile, the head of the country’s armed forces said.

“All is that a Russian missile has entered Polish airspace,” Gen. Wieslaw Kukula said.

The Polish Defense Forces, the object, entered about 24 miles of its airspace from Ukraine and left it after less than 3 minutes.

Polish and NATO radars showed the object had left Polish airspace, the military added.

General Kukula said that steps were being taken to determine those effects and the possibility of a technical error.

Russia has spoken out about the alleged incursion of one of its missiles into Polish airspace.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy says rescue operations are underway in several Ukrainian cities after the “biggest attack” carried out with Russian missiles and drones.

He says most of the almost 160 rockets and Shahed drones were shot down.

Ukraine’s president said more than 100 houses had been broken or destroyed and that other targets included schools and a maternity hospital.

“It’s that the world is reacting to this new manifestation of terror,” he said on Telegram.

Why did Russia last night bring to light its latest bombardment of Ukraine?

Another 53 people were rescued in Ukraine, after a major aerial bombardment in Russia overnight.

The country’s interior ministry said eight of those people had to be pulled from underneath rubble left by the strikes – which the Ukrainian military says is the biggest of the war.

“At the moment about 30 dead and more than 160 wounded are known as a result of the major Russian attack on the territory of Ukraine this morning,” a ministry said.

“Thank you to those who today saved, helped and cared for others. Those who did everything they could to save others. “

He also shared those photographs of the rescue being carried out today in Ukraine.
