Do you need to buy a car on Amazon? Well, now you have your chance.
The e-commerce giant will unveil U. S. vehicle sales next year and allow local car dealerships to sell to consumers on its site.
In a joint announcement with automaker Hyundai on Thursday, the two corporations said Amazon would begin providing Hyundai cars. In turn, Hyundai will call Amazon’s cloud computing unit AWS as its cloud provider and integrate its next-generation cars with Alexa. Amazon’s popular voice assistant.
The idea, according to Amazon, is to allow consumers to buy a new car online and pick it up (or have it delivered) at their local dealership.
Amazon did not say how many resellers would participate in the program or whether consumers in the U. S. would make purchases.
