A bug that frustrated Windows 11 users with AMD graphics cards (and processors to some extent) has been consistent in Microsoft’s latest OS update — or largely constant, anyway, according to reports.
This factor was introduced with the Moment Four update (first noticed in the preview of this update) and disrupted the AMD profile setup. Every time affected users restarted their PCs, those GPU settings (and also CPU settings, in some cases, such as overclocking) would revert to their default values.
The good news is that the Windows 11 November Update (which began rolling out last week) maintains this issue, with a few caveats.
As Windows Lattest reports, the error is constant according to its own tests. The tech site also spoke to a variety of users affected by the bug and most said that this new patch from Microsoft persists the problem. However, some noted that their profile was still being restored.
It looks like there are still minor issues, but it’s worth noting that for the patch to work, as well as the November update for Windows 11, you also need to be running Adrenalin d Graphics Motive Edition 23. 10. 2′ AMD.
Another small caveat as well: the November update that fixes this factor has some issues of its own.
It’s a nasty mistake. Resetting your settings and having to redo any customization from scratch after every PC reboot will become very annoying, very quickly. Especially if you’ve made a lot of modifications to your AMD system.
Seeing the solution arrive is wonderful news, there is a small drawback: apparently, not everyone deserves it. Windows Latest doesn’t specify whether those who discovered the bug still work after the latest Windows 11 update were employing AMD’s discussed edition. GPU driver (v23. 10. 2), but they probably were, as the site would have actually clarified.
The technology suggests that those who continue to be affected may simply enjoy a profile reset for some other reason besides Windows 11 updates.
Whatever remaining defects in the solution, if any, Microsoft will temporarily fix them; The software giant has not really shown the presence of this solution in the new update.
