Holland America Line recorded record bookings for Black Friday for the second year in a row in the U. S. UU. La cruise line saw 20% more bookings for Black Friday over last year and 23% more for the Black Friday to Cyber Monday era.
“While some see Black Friday as a sign of winter’s arrival, our visitors have been dreaming of exploring summer destinations like Alaska, Iceland and Greece,” Gus Antorcha, president of Holland America Line, said at a press conference this week.
“Breaking records on Black Friday for two years in a row shows us that consumers are not only excited to plan ahead, but also appreciate Holland America Line’s award-winning service and thoughtfully designed itineraries. elaborate tours that stop in more than a hundred countries.
The trend is particularly higher among consumers contemplating a summer vacation in 2024. Bookings for Alaska, Europe, and Canada/New England in particular surpassed last year’s Black Friday sales volumes.
Summer cruise itineraries include a total of six ships in Alaska, providing the maximum number of Glacier Bay entry permits in the entire cruise industry, as well as several itineraries to Iceland and Greenland and cruise itineraries in the Canada/New England region.
This new record comes just a month after Holland America Line announced its new global fishing program; a partnership with Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto showcasing new local seafood at sea. The cruise line will also launch a temporary restaurant, Morimoto By Sea, at the Nieuw Amsterdam in mid-December with a rollout for the rest of the fleet through next spring.
