A driver was hospitalized after a Blue Line exercise collided with a car in South Los Angeles. The car overturned and the exercise remained on the tracks. Police are investigating the crash.
LOS ANGELES (AP) — A collision between a Blue Line drill and a vehicle in Los Angeles on Sunday night left one rider seriously injured.
The twist of fate happened around 7:25 p. m. Sunday at the intersection of South Long Beach Avenue and East 54th Street, according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey.
The collision left the vehicle overturned and a rider temporarily trapped in the debris, Humphrey said. The individual was transported to the hospital in serious condition.
One user requested a medical evaluation through paramedics, said Humphrey, who ultimately refused to take her to the hospital by ambulance.
The exercise was held upright on the tracks, he said. The twist of fate temporarily blocked traffic on the blue line of the subway in any of the directions near the location of the turn of fate. Alternative transport for passengers of the exercise organised through Metro.
The crash is being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department.
