PARIS & NEW YORK, October 23, 2023–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Regulatory Update:
TotalEnergies (Paris:TTE) (LSE:TTE) (NYSE:TTE) announced its partnership with Corio Generation (Corio), an offshore wind developer, and Rise Light
Corio and Rise have acquired 27. 7% and 16. 3% stakes respectively in the Attentive Energy project. Rise will also bring its assets and interconnection functions in New York City to the project. In return, TotalEnergies, which keeps the remaining 56 percent, gained $420 million in monetary attention. In February 2022, TotalEnergies awarded one hundred percent of the OCS-A 0538 marine lease at the New York Bight auction.
Attentive Energy’s allocation aims to expand more than 3 gigawatts (GW) of offshore wind power to 54 miles from New York State and 42 miles from the New Jersey coast. Once built, the allocation will supply green electricity to more than one million homes in the two states.
The alliance of 3 leaders for an integrated, state-of-the-art offshore wind project
Through this partnership, TotalEnergies strengthens its ability as an operator to deliver a physically powerful, high-performance offshore wind task that will deliver green electric power to New York City. Under the terms of the agreement, Rise will manage the interconnection of the task at its Ravenswood Power Station and begin the removal of its fuel generators. This iconic site, a pillar of New York City’s electric system, will be remodeled into a green energy hub where Attentive Energy will base its operations and maintenance activities.
Corio will bring extensive experience as a global developer of offshore wind energy. With more than 30 GW under development in Europe, Asia-Pacific and the Americas, Corio has one of the largest offshore wind project portfolios in the world.
“TotalEnergies is excited to partner with Corio and Rise to cost-effectively expand a primary allocation of offshore wind that will supply greener electric power to the citizens of New York and New Jersey,” said Vincent Stoquart, senior vice president of renewable energy at TotalEnergies. This alliance strengthens TotalEnergies’ ability to actively expand its renewable energy presence in the United States, where the Company has a portfolio of 25 GW of allocations in operation or expanding, adding four GW in offshore wind. We are also pleased to contribute, through the Energy Project Mind program, to the alleviation of greenhouse fuel emissions in New York and New Jersey, and the U. S. government’s goal of getting 30 GW of offshore wind power in the country by 2030. “
