‘gtfo, he needs you here’: Trump supporters try to steer Biden away from Truth Social after president joins right-wing site

Today, President Joe Biden joined Truth Social, a meeting at his home with his 2024 opponent, former President Donald Trump.

Biden becomes the tallest Democrat to sign up for Truth Social, which is commonly populated by right-wing figures and Trump courtiers.

“Welcome, converts!” the account wrote on the platform created by Trump after he was banned from major social sites in the wake of the Jan. 6 insurrection at the Capitol.

This prompted a series of frantic responses in the comments. Several users tried to convince Biden that he lost the 2020 election, which Trump continues to claim is illegitimate. Others tried to intimidate the president off-site with memes and insults.

“Trump and you know it,” one wrote.

“Welcome to the truth. Your lies probably don’t matter here either,” said another.

“Welcome! Maybe being here will help you realize that your administration is clueless, that your leader is brain dead, that your polls are low for a reason, and that there are plenty of citizens looking to hold you accountable. Good luck to you. I’m not sure everything turns out the way you think. My vote is not at stake,” wrote another.

In a series of posts, Biden shared excerpts of Trump’s Republican opponent disparaging him over debt and supporting Biden’s stance on the Israeli-Palestinian war.

One of the clips is a video of Trump’s biggest opponent in the primary, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (right), highlighting Trump’s increase in the national debt.

DeSantis: “[Donald Trump] owes him to protect his record, where they added $7. 8 trillion to the debt. This set up the inflation we are experiencing lately,” Biden’s account writes.

“Mdr. Showing a video clip of the user that Trump surely sweeps the polls is rarely what you seek to vindicate,” one responded.

“Fox presents President Biden’s speech: I will say that I consider it a strong speech. . . a strong speech,” read another message from Biden.

“The strong term and Biden don’t pass together, so no one needs you here,” one user replied.

However, Biden’s account continues to be published despite the backlash, and he recently uploaded a clip of Nikki Haley supporting Biden’s speech on Israel and Palestine.

“Mdr, you’ve just joined the club, brother. You can’t stay here,” one user replied.

Another added a meme of Biden, betting on accusations that the president’s intellectual faculties had rejected, wearing a T-shirt that read “where the fuck am I?
