Nurse from Kerala, 2 young people killed in the UK; Family blames ‘cruel’ husband for incident

According to the deceased nurse’s circle of relatives, her husband was a “cruel” guy and had also assaulted his wife in the past. Last time with her daughter and grandchildren.

The deceased known as Anju Asok, 35, and his children, a 6-year-old boy and a 4-year-old girl. They were reportedly found seriously injured at their home in Kettering, Northampton, eastern England, on Thursday 15 December. Local police later said Asok died at the scene, while his two sons succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.

Speaking to the media at their home in Vaikom, Kottayam state district, Asok’s parents said they had been informed by local police the night before that, according to their daughter’s autopsy, she had been strangled with a rag or rope.

Asok’s mom calls her son-in-law a ‘cruel’ person

Asok’s mother alleged that her son-in-law, Saju, is a “cruel” and that she saw him attack her daughter and grandson when the couple lived in Saudi Arabia.

“I was living with them when my granddaughter was born. I saw him beat Anju and my grandson. He is a ruthless person. He gets angry very quickly. I was afraid to be alone with him in the space there. But my daughter never complained. She suffered everything in silence because she didn’t need us to worry. I’m sure their cruelty continued when they moved to England,” she told the media.

He also said Saju, who had a job in Saudi Arabia, was unemployed in England but controlled finances and rarely sent them money.

“I would when we can see our daughter and grandchildren through a video call,” Asok’s mother said. He also said his son-in-law’s circle of relatives in Kannur enjoyed his daughter and grandchildren and never complained about Asok.

What did Asok’s father say?

Meanwhile, Asok’s father said his daughter had studied nursing in Bangalore and was running there when he met Saju, who worked in an agency.

“It was a marriage of love. When she informed us, we hesitated. But they were adults and educated. He worked in an agency. My daughter said she would settle for us to say no to her marriage, but she also said no. “to insist on marrying someone else. So we agreed for them to get married,” he said.

He also said that even though he didn’t see his daughter being beaten, he saw his grandson allegedly abused through Saju, who was short-tempered.

“We lost everything in the floods of 2018. All we have now is thirteen cents of land and this house. If I sell it, my wife will get sick and I will have no position to live in our old age. I have no other way to raise that kind of money. ” I hope other people will help me. I will be very grateful to those who can help,” Asok’s father said as his eyes filled with tears.

It is worth mentioning here that Asok is a nurse applying for the National Health Service (NHS) at Kettering General Hospital since 2021.
