Mall of America’s COVID-19 vaccination will close Friday.
The Minnesota Department of Health said that because of the vaccine’s accessibility, the site is no longer needed.
Gov. Tim Walz and MDH Commissioner Jan Malcolm visited the site Friday to thank contractors and the site.
They returned to suggest Minnesotans get vaccinated and continue using the equipment, adding the new telehealth option, to keep COVID-19 at bay.
In addition, the governor thanked Malcolm for his service at the helm of the MDH. Malcolm will be in September.
“It’s been so complicated but also a great privilege to paint with other wonderful people and serve the state right now,” Malcolm said.
Since it opened in February 2021, more than 200,000 more people have won the vaccine at the Mall of America, according to MDH.
He will be open until 8pm. Friday.
