HUNTSVILLE – Westran High School held its fall awards program Nov. 17 at the school.
The prizes were in the following sports: soccer, softball, cross country and women’s golf.
Westran football finished the season with a 5–6 record, a pair of wins over Salisbury convention rivals.
Softball posted an 11-14 record, which included 3rd place in the Hallsville season opener and 5th place in the Terry Early New Franklin Tournament.
Cairo Westran, 7-5, in the District 8 Class 1 tournament.
Westran had his first cross-country state qualifiers, thanks to Nolen Winkler and Jill Stephenson.
In women’s golf, senior Vallie Schermerhorn broke one hundred at Westran’s invitation on Tuesday, Sept. 13 at Heritage Hills Golf Course. Schermerhorn finished ninth overall in a box of around 80 participants.
