The NCAA on Tuesday announced long-term venues for the men’s basketball Final Four through 2030, which will come with Detroit in 2027, Las Vegas in 28, Indianapolis in 29 and North Texas in 30.
Las Vegas has never hosted the Final Four before, meaning Tuesday’s announcement was major news for the city, as the main sporting event will take place there this decade. The upcoming events come with the first Formula 1 Grand Prix in Las Vegas next November and the Super Bowl. in 2024.
Meanwhile, Detroit has hosted in 2009, Indianapolis has hosted 8 before and North Texas has hosted twice before.
“We are thrilled to bring the first NCAA championship to Las Vegas, a city that for several years has hosted multi-conference championships,” said NCAA Division I men’s basketball president Chris Reynolds via the NCAA press release. “The feedback from the leagues, their group enthusiasts and the media covering the events held there has been overwhelmingly positive, and we are confident that we will receive the same complaint when the men’s Final Four is played at Allegiant Stadium. “
Each Final Four will be at the city’s NFL Stadium: Ford Field in Detroit, Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis and AT Stadium.
The next 4 Final Four host cities have been known for some time, adding Houston in 2023, Phoenix in 24, San Antonio in 25 and Indianapolis in 26.
