Colorado saw another big jump in sports betting, recording the second-highest record per month since the state began offering legal sports betting.
The Colorado Department of Revenue announced today that the state’s online and retail sports betting sites reported $526. 6 million in bets in October, only the $573. 7 reported in January 2021. The latter figure was a 17% increase from September’s figures and a 7. 1% improvement in the English Channel from October 2021.
While the handful were among the most productive for the state. . . October was a wonderful month for punters, as the 6. 93% retention rate for traders was well below September’s mark of 11. 4%, due to the drop in mobile betting retention from 11. 4% to 6. 9%. . . and retail sales fell from 14. 3% to 5. 5%.
That brought overall gross gaming profit (GGR) to $36. 5 million on the month, down 28. 9%, and taxes paid to the state’s Water Implementation Cash Fund rose from about $3 million. . . to $2. 3 million.

Among direct sports betting, professional football accounted for 32. 6% of the total, followed by the NBA with 16. 3%, school football (9. 6%). . . and baseball with 8. 0%.
