In many ways, Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner’s tenure in Washington did not go as expected, assuming they did not expect that running for their father would result, among other things, in Kushner fitting into a global line of attack; the first woman described as “inept”; New Yorkers aggressively (and rightly so) drove them out of the city; and their reputations destroyed. However, his time in the White House was incredibly good for them: namely, Kushner’s 4 years of Saudi kissing and apology for murder led to a $2 billion check from the kingdom for his new personal justice firm. Note: This is in addition to the $640 million the duo reportedly earned in external revenue streams while serving as advisers to Donald Trump, thanks in part to their resolve to circumvent conflict of interest laws.
And possibly because of that attitude, knowing that they were probably a week away from a traveling billboard showing their boiling faces on the company’s, and also that they had already blown up the president’s workplace to squeeze every last dollar they can out of it. — Which Ivanka took to Instagram last night, just as her father announced her third candidacy, to write that she would not be involved:

In what we assume is the only comprehensive media she can find, Ivanka clarified and told Fox News that she is “extremely close” to her father, who denies the election and incites insurrection. She added: “This has not replaced and never Will. I have had many roles over the years, but the woman is one of the most fundamental and consistent. I love this time with my children, I love life in Miami and the freedom and privacy of being back in the personal sector. It was one of the most important moments of my life. Noting that her 3 children “are at critical ages,” she said she and Kushner were “happy where we are now, and we will continue to help my father, as his children. “In closing, she said that while she “never intended to move into politics,” she is “very proud” of what she “has been able to accomplish” while running for the White House.
In particular, he did not condemn any of the terrible things his father did during his tenure, the two-year lies he told: the theft of the 2020 election or the violent insurgency he fomented that left several people dead.
On Monday, he reported that Trump spent the weekend trying to convince Kushner and Ivanka that she appeared to be on par with him for his 2024 announcement. Not only did that not happen, but Ivanka wasn’t even at Mar-a-Lago when she did. (Kushner gave the impression in the crowd alongside his brother-in-law Eric Trump. )
Again, however, there is no explanation as to why Ivanka’s absence and statements (and Kushner’s alleged washing of Trump’s hands) are falling because the couple realizes that Donald Trump was one of the worst presidents in history, or that he did a lot of bad things. or that they are ashamed to allow their reign of terror for 4 years. The only conclusion here is that they perceive how deeply unpopular he has become and that running for him has made them look bad by association. They don’t like it, and now, with cash in the bank, they would like to be credited for taking the weakest of non-stands.
