Harris is for women, all she cares about is the expansion of the U. S. military. UU. – Brosas

MANILA, Philippines — Kamala Harris is not an icon of women’s empowerment. Her trip to the Philippines is only for the expansion of the military, exposing Filipino women to an increased threat of abuse and exploitation.

Brosas, at a press conference on Thursday, claimed that Harris carries with him the U. S. geopolitical agenda. The U. S. government focuses on empowering women and strengthening its military position in Southeast Asia.

Harris in the Philippines on a statewide scale and met with government officials including President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte. She spoke about women’s empowerment and climate change at one of her side conferences.

According to the US official, democracy is explained through the prestige of society. But Brosas responded to Harris’ alleged stance, noting that the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (Edca) puts it at risk.

“We urge our fellow Filipinos to reject the nuclear deal between the United States and the Philippine government, as well as the structure of more EDCA sites across the country, which will make Filipinos more vulnerable to violence and abuse,” the lawmaker said.

“Vice President Kamala Harris does not symbolize women’s empowerment, but military and economic expansion at the expense of our national sovereignty. Bitbit and Harris the U. S. geopolitical timeline that can malubhang epekto to bansa, such as the civil nuclear cooperation agreement dealing with nuclear waste with Kalusugan and Kapaligiran,” he also explained.

(Harris brings with her the U. S. geopolitical agenda, which would actually harm the country, such as the Civil Nuclear Cooperation Agreement, which would generate nuclear waste that could affect public health and the environment. )

Agreement 123 is an agreement the United States forges with its allies, based on Section 123 of the U. S. Atomic Energy Act. The U. S. government prohibits countries that spouse nuclear power marriages from creating nuclear weapons.

But Brosas and fellow bloc lawmaker Makabayan, Alliance of Concerned Teachers Rep. Castro France, fear that the combined agreement with EDCA, which U. S. troops will operate in the country, will put the Philippines in China’s crosshairs given the rivalry between Washington and Beijing.

“First of all, although they say it’s for civilian use, it’s an experimental technology. That is why we said that we would be the guinea pigs of this cooperation. Secondly, there is a massive threat of being concerned about this. “with Sino-American tensions. These issues, we shouldn’t worry between China and the United States because they are dangerous,” Brosas said.

“If nuclear sites are placed near our military bases where the United States also has its base, we can be attacked through China; we know the state of the rivalry between China and the United States, and that would be very risky and in all likelihood harmful to the Filipinos. We call on Marcos Jr. ‘s management to examine this carefully,” Castro added.

Last Tuesday, lawmakers from the Makabayan bloc presented a solution calling for an investigation into the negotiations around the 123 agreement, saying it could lead to more risks than benefits.
