Fortnite and Rocket League have had a few crossover opportunities over the years, but nothing has intertwined Epic Games’ biggest titles more than its latest event.
In Fortnite’s High Octane event, players can now drive, jump, flip, and even hit the map with Rocket League’s iconic Octane battle car in-game.
It’s not exciting to dodge unlucky opponents, but the occasion also features in-game missions to unlock cosmetics for either game. back bling” and the soft “Clutch Victory” beak, whose head is a winged guide wheel adorned with the Rocket League logo and a banner reading “Champion”.
The most appealing praise for Rocket League fans, of course, is Fortnite’s Whiplash car and the cosmetics that come with it in Rocket League. This modern, old-fashioned car can be obtained by completing 8 of the Octane-themed missions in Fortnite.
The full main points of the missions can be discovered in the Missions tab of the game: the 11 missions in the general canopy of Fortnite’s Battle Royale modes and 4 separate fan-created mini-games. Overall, they seem to inspire participation rather than require a great deal of skill. in any game, so even newcomers to Fortnite have no problem completing eight missions before the event ends on December 3.
Most importantly, the Octane is absolutely fun to drive in the game. I was able to place it seamlessly in the skydiving of my first setting and, after getting used to (or reconfiguring) the controls, the movement of the car is as natural as in Rocket League. Bouncing off canyon walls and clearing entire cities with a single accelerated jump is a new treatie in search of yourself.
Octane in Fortnite
The networked mini-games I played for the missions show the intensity of the player’s creativity and are a stark reminder of what Rocket League lacks. Variety in the game. With a game as popular as Rocket League, it’s disappointing that I had to start with a completely different game to nevertheless run the Octane on a course.
