Bibles and Basketball will host a pre-tournament event to raise money for amputees ahead of Tampa Bay’s annual Holiday Invitational Basketball Tournament. On Tuesday, December 27 from 5 to 7 p. una disability.
The invitational tournament will be held Wednesday through Saturday, Dec. 28-31, at Pasco County’s Wiregrass Ranch sports campus, located at 3021 Space Coast Wy. at Wesley Chapel, and more than 180 groups from across the country will participate. The tournament is the biggest Christmas school invitation tournament in the country and has grown since its first tournament in 2015.
“We can win youth and adults for our Lord through sports and business,” said Ed Treimanis, founder and coach of Bibles and Basketball.
Former Harlem Globetrotter Larry ‘Shorty’ Coleman will be on hand to help raise money for Helping Hands Ministry and 50 legacies. The money raised for Helping Hands Ministry will be donated to Hoops four Shorty to help the legendary Globetrotter, whose leg was amputated. The rest of the cash will go to 50 Bequests, which donates prosthetic arms and legs to amputee children.
Sponsorship opportunities will be offered for Americans and businesses on the basketball tour. For donations of $500 or more, businesses and Americans can post their logo or call on the back of tour t-shirts. For $100, businesses will appear on the basketball tour website.
Tickets to attend the tournament will also be available, but other people with disabilities or the families of the user with disabilities will be able to enter for free.
“There [were] not so many gyms and there [were] not so many basketball camps in the Brandon metro area,” Treimanis said of why bibles and basketball.
The program includes time at the beginning of the Bible examination consultation before participating in fellowship among athletes.
