PINE, Ore. (KTVZ) – Recycling Oregon’s 10-cent interchangeable beverage boxes is much less difficult for citizens and nonprofits in the La Pine area, thanks to the arrival of a green and blue BottleDrop Express bag drop-off location at Ray’s Food Place, located at 51537 US Highway 97.
The new BottleDrop Express officially opened to the public on Thursday and became the sixth green and blue bag drop-off location in central Oregon.
“I’m thrilled that there’s a sliding door in La Pine,” said House Republican Leader Rep. Vikki Breese Iverson, who represents La Pine’s dominance in the state legislature. “This is a vital service that citizens will use when recycling and assistance keeps the network intact. “
Through the Green and Blue Bag programs, Americans (through Green Bags) and nonprofits (through Blue Bags) can seamlessly exchange boxes in bulk, placing interchangeable beverage boxes of metal, plastic, and glass in the same bags and dropping them off anywhere. Customers place unique stickers with QR codes on their bags, which associate the contents of those bags with the visitor’s BottleDrop account. Bags are counted and credited to visitors’ accounts in seven days, faster.
“The Green Bag program is an incredibly popular container buyback option for Oregonians,” said Eric Chambers, director of external relations for Oregon Beverage Recycling Cooperative, which operates the BottleDrop network. off-point in La Pine, it helps Oregon continue to achieve the highest beverage container buyback rate in the country. “
Consumer convenience has led to the immediate expansion of the program. Last year, more than 800,000 BottleDrop account holders deposited more than 11. 2 million green and blue bags in Oregon. Lately there are over 2000 BottleDrop account holders within 10 miles of the new delivery point location in La Pine, who collectively have left around 20,000 bags of beverage boxes to be exchanged and recycled over the past year, claiming over $140,000 in 10-cent GOLD rebates.
“We’re looking at tactics to improve comfort and decorate our customers’ experience,” said Rocky Campbell, vice president of operations for C.
Existing BottleDrop account holders can now use this new BottleDrop Express location, just as they lately use the baggage storage gates at Redmond and Bend BottleDrop redemption centers, and the BottleDrop Express sites in Bend (Bend Fred Meyer and 3rd Street Albertsons) and Sisters (Ray’s Food Place).
New consumers can create a BottleDrop account online, through the mobile app (search for “BottleDrop Account” in the App Store or Google Play), or through the BottleDrop kiosk located at any baggage drop-off point (including internal Ray’s Food Place). Green bags can now also be purchased at Ray’s Food Place (and all bag delivery locations), and consumers can also print their bag stickers at the store’s BottleDrop kiosk.
Area nonprofits and their supporters can also participate, refill their bottles and increase the budget through the Blue Bag program. The Blue Bag program allows nonprofits to create fundraising accounts with BottleDrop and distribute Blue Bags to their supporters. Like the Green Bag program, fundraisers get unique QR code stickers for luggage tags to place on their bags, making sure the budget for those boxes is credited to the nonprofit’s BottleDrop account.
BottleDrop is operated through OBRC, which introduced the Green and Blue Bulk Bag Repurchase Program in Oregon in 2010, as a convenient and effective option for recycling bottles and cans. The program has grown since then, with over 900,000 BottleDrop account holders and over 5100 Oregon nonprofits recently participating in the program. Ray’s Food Place in La Pine is the 92nd baggage drop off point on BottleDrop’s statewide network.
