When it comes to rest and relaxation, I have to set the right tone for my space, and Evil Queen candles help me do just that. Its waxes are high quality, and come in a variety of aromatherapy aromas to satisfy each and every palate. Personally, I find the earthiest aromas to be the most relaxing. Not to mention, I love supporting women-owned and women-run small businesses.

Burning those candles has become a ritual for me. Every night after dinner, I clear my last candle in the middle of my living room, creating a relaxing atmosphere when I start sleeping. Fragrances are strong enough to be noticeable. They bring me to the moment of provision when I breathe deeply intentionally – but not so strong as to overwhelm your senses.

Plus, each candle brings a hint of laughter with a bold label, and the reusable glass jars are wonderful for other DIY projects around the house. These candles are even accompanied by considerate confirmation cards, which I leave on my table to motivate me during working hours. Two of my favorites: “Life is hard, but so am I” and “I’m developing and converting for the better. “

As a fan of baths and cannabidiol (CBD) as relaxing remedies, I was excited to try Equilibria’s conscious mineral bath, infused with jasmine, gardenia, must-have oils, and two hundred milligrams of full-spectrum CBD.

I lit a candle, prepared a bath, and tried to dose my soaking accurately, which was more difficult than expected. Equilibria recommends pouring about a quarter of the bag into a hot bath, but it’s tricky to know how much to pour; The bag doesn’t provide any kind of measuring tool and is rarely very transparent, so I couldn’t see how much salt I was pouring. In the end, I miscalculated and poured a part of the bag into my bathroom.

The bath itself was relaxing, as were the maximum hot baths. However, I was disappointed with my CBD bath. Despite the large amount of bath salts added to my bathtub, I haven’t noticed any of the typical CBD effects I have with my favorite CBD. Rubber bands. My state of tranquility was easily attributed to the hot water in the bathroom. It’s true that I’m used to the edible bureaucracy of CBD, so for those new to CBD, this soak can be a smart way to dip your feet in (bath) water.

Whenever I feel overwhelmed, my structure tends to need to freeze in place: “Just in that little ball of tension. That’s probably the way to fix things,” my brain says. Of course, this is almost never the way to fix it. I feel better. Movement, specifically walking, is my favorite way to relax more and relax, even if I don’t need to do it at first.

There’s something about going outside, breathing new air, and watching others go by their days or nights that calms me down. It makes the cycle of worries and anxieties in my head smaller and more surmountable. Suddenly, my problems and I are no longer the middle of the universe.

Science turns out to be on my side in this case. Exercise (such as walking) can help reduce levels of stress hormones and increase endorphins (brain chemicals that affect mood), according to research.

As a bonus, walking is loose and can be practiced in almost any weather, meaning it’s an available option.

I’ve found that the transition between the hustle and bustle of everyday life and the end of the night is difficult. Fortunately, bringing a guided meditation ritual into my evening helps me shift gears, calm any lingering intellectual chatter, and dispel physical stress. Specifically, I like to practice yoga nidra meditation, also known as yogic sleep.

To prepare, I unfold my yoga mat in a quiet area and settle in with pillows and blankets. I regularly shine the glow of accessories and light a candle to infuse a feeling of rest in my area. Once prepared, I decide on a Yoga Nigra Meditation, from the Insight Timer app, where you can find loose guided meditations and mindfulness content. A yoga nidra can last from 10 minutes to over an hour, so I decide on one based on my schedule. One of my favorite meditations is “Yoga Nidra to Reconnect and Expand Perspective,” a 49-minute nidra practice through Jana Roemer available on Insight Timer.

Once I feel a comfortable lie on my yoga mat, I start meditating, which involves being guided to pay attention to other sounds in the room and outside the room and finally attracting my attention through a “body scan,” during which I am guided to practice other parts of my body, Step by step, from head to toe. Practice less anxiety and tension (physical and mental) my days.

My favorite tool for relaxing is meditation. First of all, I was convinced it wasn’t for me, but everything changed after watching Peloton’s The Power of Sleep, a two-week meditation program of 15 classes.

The program includes meditation strategies, such as scanning and viewing pictures, that made a difference for me. During the frame scanning strategy, the instructor brings awareness to other parts of your painting from head to toe, and the visualization strategy guides you through reflecting on the occasions of your day.

What I appreciate most about Peloton’s meditation collection is that you don’t have to be a professional to enjoy its benefits. Classes range in duration from five to 30 minutes, with 10 meditation instructors, making it easy to personalize your experience. Peloton also offers a variety of programs, adding courses in meditation basics, mindfulness, fitness focus, breathing and family circle and pre/postnatal meditations, among others.

I keep my jaw strain and can feel the effects of a tense day on my molars the next morning after a bad night’s sleep. Facial massage, an ancient practice of oriental medicine that uses equipment to massage the skin and increase blood flow, among other benefits.

To begin my practice, I apply non-comedogenic jojoba oil on my face before my gua sha facial sculpting stone to perform rhythmic movements in other spaces of my face. I start with my jaw, the stone to carve my jawline, before sliding it from my chin to my ear and down my neck. This movement promotes lymphatic drainage (goodbye swelling), releases tension and increases blood circulation, all benefits for the skin. After about six movements on either side of my face, I move the stone upwards, from my chin to the upper right corner of my cheek. This move acts like what some in the good looks industry might call an instant facelift, but I think it’s refreshing. There are a variety of tactics that a user can practice facial gua sha, and it is important to know which movement paints are most productive for you.

Whether it’s to release tension before a morning of meditation or to complete a sumptuous evening skincare routine, there’s nothing like gua sha to make me feel pampered and in a position to relax.
