BEIJING — A total of 299 new national and provincial roads and road projects were introduced in China in the first months of the year, lasting 9,645 km, according to the Ministry of Transportation.
Total investment in those projects reached 882. 6 billion yuan ($123 billion), MOT official Gu Zhifeng said at a press conference on Monday.
In September alone, 34 new primary road projects were launched, Mr. Gu added that his total investment reached 385. 3 billion yuan, about 277 million yuan more than last month.
M. Gu said the ministry will continue to accentuate efforts to generate real investments and push forward the implementation of a number of primary road projects to better leverage the role of key projects in stabilizing economic operations.
According to the Ministry of Transport, a total of 16,721 charging stations have been built in China’s 3,974 road service areas, as the country has accelerated the structure of battery charging services along the roads.
