Trump uses donations to Save America PAC to pay tariffs

Donald Trump’s political operation has spent more cash since he left on lawyers representing the former president and a pair of nonprofits made up of former Cabinet members than on Republican campaigns in Congress, according to a review of monetary documents.

According to the Post’s reports, which have not been independently verified via MSNBC or NBC News, Trump’s PAC devoted about $8. 4 million to Republican campaigns and committees. But the PAC spent $7 million on the former president’s lawyers and sent $2 million to teams employing former managers

The most recent investments include $1 million for the Conservative Partnership Institute, the former employer of White House leader Mark Meadows, and another $1 million for the America First Policy Institute, which is led in part by Linda McMahon, who served in Trump’s cabinet. .

The Post added that the biggest check from Operation Save America was a $3 million payment to a Florida law firm: Trump hired Christopher Kise to expose him in the Mar-a-Lago classified documents scandal, and the lawyer insisted on an upfront payment. The former president, who has a reputation for refusing to pay his bills.

For Republican candidates facing economic difficulties, none of this is good news: They would prefer that Trump’s team spend more on their campaigns and less on lawyers.

But save an idea for rank-and-file Republican taxpayers.

The goal of a political action committee, according to maximum measures, the explanation of why they exist, is to direct the budget to like-minded candidates. Individual donors do not have the time or means to study race, so they give a contribution to a trust fund. But those who help prop up Trump’s Operation Save America only help applicants subsidized by the former president, they also help write checks to lawyers representing the former president in the face of his many ongoing scandals.
