In the run-up to the Nvidia GTC event on September 20, there have been tons of rumors and leaks, especially related to the Nvidia RTX 4090, which is expected to make its official debut. The most recent leak, first revealed via Weibo (opens in a new tab) and reported via Wccftech (opens in a new tab), is the Lenovo Legion GeForce RTX 4090 model, which would possibly feature a large three-slot design measuring 14 inches.
The photographs also seem to show the duration of the OEM, which has an impressive size. The triple slot is a design selection that was also noticed on the RTX 3080 Ti. Lenovo has released two more models with similar overall designs, the RTX 3090 Ti and the RX 6900 XT.
There are also leaked images in the past of the Lenovo Legion gaming computer’s internal illustrated card, showing how it cools. PCB, air is conducted through the cut of the backplate. We can also see in another photo the number of heat pipes connected to the heat sink and what could be just a vapor chamber.
These leaks show a clearer picture of the RTX 4090 and, regardless of the model, it looks like it will be a huge graphics card that will consume a lot of power.
But what’s the point of such a sturdy (and power-hungry) card?The truth is that most PC games are rugged enough to beat an RTX 3060, let alone enjoy the strength of a 3090 or one of the 4000 series.
It can be argued that the upcoming Lovelace cards, which come with the 4090, may reduce the value of the past generation, but that would have happened over time anyway, as the main cause of inflated prices – the fall in crypto values. especially Ethereum, which means more cards on the market and fewer bought through crypto miners, is no longer a challenge now.
Given the amount of force the 4090 is expected to use, at least 650W of force and in all likelihood more when overclocking, PC developers will want to build around this board. Not to mention the size, which will also be the overall construction.
And the worst component of it all is whether the specifications and references are even worth the power load, which so far doesn’t seem to be the case. Of course, those are just hypotheses based on rumors, so take it all slowly. grain of salt.
