COVID app that detects the virus in your voice “more accurate than appearance tests”

A cell phone app can stumble upon COVID in people’s voices with synthetic intelligence (AI) of “potentially maximum accuracy,” according to the researchers.

An AI style would be 89% accurate and affordable to use, meaning it could be followed in low-income countries where PCR testing is more expensive.

The effects can be delivered in less than a minute and would be a “significant improvement” in the accuracy of side tests, the scientists said.

Wafaa Aljbawi, a researcher at the Institute of Information Sciences at Maastricht University in the Netherlands, said: “These promising effects recommend that undeniable voice recordings and subtle AI algorithms can potentially reach maximum accuracy in determining which patients are inflamed with COVID-19.

“The lateral flow test has a sensitivity of only 56%, but a higher specificity rate of 99. 5%. This is vital because it means that the side flow test incorrectly classifies other inflamed people as COVID-19 negative more than our test.
