A new seasonal survey shows that more than a portion of other people are making plans for a fall getaway and the main points why and how they plan to get there.
PORTLAND, Or. , Sept. 1, 2022–(BUSINESS WIRE)–While summer vacation has earned its rightful place on the annual forecast list, there’s something special about the fall that sits among the summer crowds and the approaching winter cold. Fast weekend travel may be favored as days get shorter, but that doesn’t mean holidays won’t be used: 58% of respondents plan to take a vacation during the fall 2022 season and 72% said they plan to travel more this fall-fall than in 2021. Et, although summer travel is still the most important, many prefer autumn getaways because the weather is more ideal (34%), there are fewer people (23%) and/or because they are now less busy than during the summer (22%). Where are they going? Vacasa’s knowledge shows five destinations with remarkable year-over-year gains for fall reservations, from the beaches of Hawaii to the shores of Lake Tahoe and the forests of northern Wisconsin, proving that other people are looking for variety during this ideal season.
So while other people fall in love with fallArray, here’s a look at the key findings of Vacasa’s fall 2022 trends, released today:
Work flexibility remains a factor in seasonal plans: 76% of those running in a hybrid or completely remote format to escape this fall, but aren’t the only organization most susceptible to ArrayTogether, Gen Z and Gen Y are likely more than older generations (Gen X and baby boomers) have plans this fall (64% vs. 50%) and the same applies to parents compared to parents. who are not parents (63% vs. 50%).
About four in five fall travelers plan to travel to the country (79%), slightly more than the summer of 2022 (74%). And, of those who travel to the U. S. or less.
Nearly two-thirds of fall travelers plan to fast on weekends (2 nights or less) this season (64%), nearly double those who planned to do so in a similar consultation conducted in the summer of 2022 (33%) and almost 3 times more than those who planned to do so in a similar consultation conducted in the fall/early winter of 2021 (22%).
More weekend getaways can also mean more spontaneity. Lately, half of all travelers book online/plan their next fall trip(s) (50%), while nearly a quarter say they are most likely to book a last-minute getaway (24%).
Those who don’t plan to go on vacation this fall say they’re looking to save cash (37 percent), are lately in a monetary position to take a vacation (36 percent) or are waiting for fuel costs to come down (27 percent).
Meanwhile, COVID-19 considerations continue to decline from season to season as an explanation for why not to do so: 16% of non-experts cited the pandemic as an explanation for why not this fall, compared to 20% of respondents in the summer of 2022. and 35% in the spring of 2022.
