FLEMINGTON – With a new ghost tour, a craft distillery, a planned revitalization of downtown and the now bustling Stangl Road, Hunterdon County Headquarters is the gathering place it once was.
Flemington caught the attention of Travel Leisure, which recently named it one of the 12 most sensible small towns in New Jersey. Westfield, Cranbury and Lambertville were also named to the list.
The world-famous resource cited Flemington’s plethora of historic sites, upscale attractions, department stores and local restaurants, and the busy calendar of events.
“We are thrilled to be identified as one of New Jersey’s small towns. Flemington’s historic sites, beautiful architecture, exciting farm-to-table restaurants, energetic occasions, and eclectic shopping make our small town a destination. “Robin Lapidus, executive director of flemington Community Partnership (FCP), said in a statement.
“We invite everyone to make a stop on our beautiful and historic Main Street and help our businesses to the Courthouse Square assignment structure this fall by joining us on the many seasonal occasions we have planned, dining at one of our fabulous restaurants or participating in the many workshops presented at our new cultural attraction, Flemington DIY,” he continued.

Some of Flemington’s attractions referenced through Travel Leisure include Northlandz, Flemington Castle Museum, The Gift Horse Candle Shop, Factory Fuel Coffee House, Lone Eagle Brewing, Teaberry’s Tea Room and Humdoo Ice Cream.
Travel Leisure is rarely the only resource to take advantage of Flemington. According to the statement, the district is considered to be the destination of the year 2023 through Jersey’s Best, a lifestyle and entertainment brand.
