Index AR Solutions, a creator of virtual education, has announced a partnership with Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) that will give students access to modern, field-proven learning structures and help prepare them for careers at utilities like MidAmerican Energy.
Under the terms of a team agreement, Index is implementing an immersive, multimodal virtual curriculum for classroom instruction at DMACC that will provide students with the skills and accurate data needed to be hired as line-of-force mechanics. The program, the first of its kind, will be held at DMACC’s Ankeny campus, delivered via tablets to 15 scholars enrolled in a two-semester course that began Aug. 24.
The curtain includes 20 Index e-book titles that were first developed in close collaboration with MidAmerican to help exercise learner linemen. and two hundred instructional videos of real line mechanics painting and giving advice. The videos also highlight the importance of protection and commitment to visitor service, with experienced staff sharing their wisdom and real-life stories in the field.
Indexed e-books offer a way to be informed and consume data in a way that is as familiar as possible to the next generation of workers. The e-books come with a virtual annotation equipment that allows scholars to take notes and highlight the text for later review. Built-in quizzes and quizzes allow instructors to track student progress.
The tablets also feature Index’s 22 interactive mobile apps that use augmented truth (AR), three-dimensional models, and animations to teach students how to identify key elements or perform common tasks, such as troubleshooting a transformer, step by step. also academic consultants through protection considerations and equipment needed for the passage and overlap of critical data about the component they are studying.
