Bosch has announced a $200 million investment that will create 350 jobs and bring proprietary mobile fuel generation to its Anderson County production facility. The expansion will begin until 2026.
Job vacancies will come with operators, engineers and technicians on a competitive salary rented at Anderson’s site, according to the company. According to Susan Cizmic, plant manager, officials plan to lease the region, through contracting systems with Tri-County Technical College and internally.
“Winning mobile fuel generation is like winning the Super Bowl, providing an incredibly bright and exciting long term for our associates,” said Christian Kolzem, senior vice president and chief technical officer of the company’s plant.
The facility just off Interstate 85 in State 81 between Anderson and Greenville will see a 147,000-square-foot upgrade to a construction purchased in the past in 2018 for production and mandatory space.

“For years, Anderson affiliates have gained experience in producing electronic components and sensors that apply very well to the fuel cell,” said Mike Mansuetti, president of Bosch North America. “The hydrogen economy is very promising. “
Mobile fuel generation uses hydrogen to create electrical power when combined with oxygen, and powers some trucks.
Anderson’s location will be one of the few sites the company uses for mobile fuel production, he said.
“We will serve the entire North American market and are spearheading this technology,” Kolzem said.
Bosch recently announced a billion-dollar investment to expand cellular fuel technologies through 2024.
“A fuel mobile works like a battery,” said David Crews, director of manufacturing. “The only difference is that a battery discharges and you want to recharge, and with a fuel mobile, as long as you supply oxygen and hydrogen together, be careful. “capable of producing electricity. “
Bosch is a provider of mobility responses and commercial and energy technologies. It has more than 400 jobs and 400,000 workers worldwide.
Bosch Anderson has recently employed about 1,200 associates.
“Fostering culture and the cutting edge generation make up the Anderson family,” said Cizmic.
“We offer incredibly competitive pay diversity to our associates,” Kolzem said. “That’s why we need to attract the most productive skill to our facilities. “
Improvements at Anderson will also come with a new front door and security construction, with the option to expand into new construction if the paintings continue to rise.
“This investment and the jobs created through this new generation are for Anderson County and for our long-standing collaboration with Bosch as one of the largest local employers,” said Tommy Dunn, Anderson County Council President.
