A piece of “paradise across the sea” will be given to Vladimir Putin after he “personally requests” it, it is claimed.
The Bichvinta of Abkhazia, a breakaway state in Georgia, will pass into the hands of Russia following a 49-year-old secret deal, according to reports.
Russia’s resolution is described as an “annexation” through Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili.
He said: “What we see in Bichvinta is a form of annexation of Georgian territory through Russia.
“We are seeing a popular reaction to the events.
“This is the result of an uninterrupted occupation. I strongly condemn it and call on the network to react firmly. “
The 186 hectares of land and 115 hectares of water occupy the space of a Stalinist-era dacha in Pitsunda and can now house Kremlin guards in an army camp.
Russia has already carried out repeated land grabs and incursions into Georgian territory and the new agreement raises fears that such advances could be achieved.
The land sparked protests and several activists reportedly went on hunger strike.
Aslan Bzhania, the de facto president of the dissident region, said he can do little to get Russia to capture the territory.
He said: “I can say with certainty that the Russian Federation can do without this dacha, but can we do without the Russian Federation, its armed forces and its structures that protect our borders here? That’s a great question.
“This is a position that our main guest [Putin] comes to. . . We will conduct a major overhaul to make this facility function as a full-fledged president of the Russian Federation. “
Georgian blogger Tinatin Dias claimed that Putin sought Russia at the hotel because of “rumors. “
He is believed to have requested that the goods be turned over to the Federal Protective Service.
He said: “There is a massive noise in Abkhazia, as a Nature Reserve of Pitsunda is ceded to Russia.
“Rumors say that this non-public preference of Putin, apparently, needs to build a new domain there after the feeling that Gelendzhik is no longer so sure. “
Gelendzhik Retreat is a mansion in a Black Sea hotel in Krasnodar Krai.
It would have been built for Putin through oligarch Alexander Ponomarenko.
In 2021, the president’s former judo partner, Arkady Rotenberg, claimed to have purchased the assets containing a 27,000-square-foot guest space with 11 rooms, an erotic dance bar and an indoor go-kart track.
The assets revealed through the team of Russian opposition leader and jailed activist lawyer Alexei Navalny in a documentary.
