Kampgrounds of America (KOA) believes that camping will continue to exist even in times of economic volatility.
In the July issue of KOA’s monthly study report, the camp industry giant predicted that 15. 93 million families would camp this month.
“This year is very different from 2021, and we are encouraged by the fact that other people continue to opt for camping as a vacation option,” Whitney Scott, KOA’s chief marketing officer, said in the news release. Due to the uncertainty of external factors, campers highlight the importance of activity when making plans. People locate camping tactics because it’s part of their lifestyle.
Although falling gas costs are a minor fear of the months, the conversion of economic considerations has led 77% of camping families to adjust their camping plans. Campers now make trips closer to home, make fewer camping trips, or stay longer in places. In the past 30 days, 12% of campers said they had canceled some camping projects.
The report also noted that other bureaucracy is also plagued by monetary issues, with 35% of campers indicating they have, or plan to replace, some other vacation option with a camping vacation in 2022.
“Travelers have multiple points that influence decisions, whether it’s economic or air instability,” Scott said. “Knowing this, we continue to innovate our offerings to engage this company and deliver incredible outdoor experiences. “
Camping is a popular pastime in America, yet some campers are staying home this year. According to a recent KOA survey, the top reasons for not camping are financial, difficulty finding a place, and lack of vacation. Gasoline prices, which have fallen slightly, have declined as an explanation for why not camp.
KOA’s July-by-month study report also showed how far in advance campers booked camping sites with eebook, with 20% indicating they made reservations 3 to 5 months in advance. (18%) in advance.
