Ingrid Power Holdings Inc. , a joint venture of ACEN Corp. et Axia Power Holdings Philippines Corp. , plans to establish a 270-megawatt battery power garage formula in Barangay Malaya, Pililla, Rizal that will cost around 7 billion pesos.
IPHI said in a report to the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources that the allocation would cover the need for force garage systems to manage the auxiliary or reserve requirements of the force network.
He said Pililla BESS would operate with energy jet lag or energy arbitrage as the main function. The plant will charge from the grid when there is excess power and marginal electric power is low.
The stored energy will be discharged and sold to the grid in case of maximum energy demand and higher electricity market prices.
The loading and unloading of the network will be carried out at National Grid Corp. ‘s 230-kilovolt Malaya substation. From the Philippines, a direct connection to the Ingrid substation.
It will serve as an auxiliary service source for Luzon’s grid and power quality to help mitigate frequency and voltage issues. The assignment will also provide an ancillary service in the form of a regulation and emergency reserve to keep the network frequency constant.
IPHI said the assignment will use lithium-ion battery power garage systems, which have higher aging and lifespan characteristics and are basically used for power delay.
These batteries allow for convenient installation and are seamlessly scalable for long-lasting extensions. They also have superior express power, power density, and express power.
IPHI said this generation is safe to use and has minimal environmental impact during structure and operation.
The assignment will be built on assets of 63,151 square meters and will have a useful life of 15 years. The proposed assignment is owned by Tabangao Realty Inc. and is rented through Buendia Christiana Holdings Corp.
