Grammy-nominated pop organization Choice, Japanese Breakfast, announced it had canceled an exhibition on Sept. 27 at Rochester’s Main Street Armory, 900 E. Main St. , due to the venue’s resolution to host the ReAwaken America Tour, a two-day event with so far away: right-wing speakers and conspirators like Roger Stone and General Michael Flynn.
In a tweet Thursday, the organization led by Michelle Zauner wrote: “We have cancelled. . . because other people have let us know that they are boycotting the place because of the Reawaken America tour. We were told that the occasion had been cancelled and later learned that he secretly proceeded to move on.
The leg of the ReAwaken America tour, with the originally announced dates of August 12 and 13, is not indexed on Armory’s online page, it still appears on the tour’s online page and notes, “Ticket requests are coming !!!!”
When asked about the prestige of preventing the excursion to Rochester and to learn more about the cancellation of the Japanese breakfast concert, a guy who answered on the phone at the Armory said, “I don’t know anything about it right now. I’ll let you know when I’ll do it,” and hung up before identifying himself.
Previously, Scott Donaldson, owner and operator of the site, had responded to calls and comment emails when contacted through the Democrat and column after several local politicians and network leaders asked the Armory to cancel the ReAwaken America event.
Among them was Monroe County Legislative Assembly Speaker Sabrina Lamar, who issued a statement that said, in part, “To avoid everything that happens along the way, this nationalist excursion has left in its wake harmful misinformation that can lead to the accumulation of bigotry, hatred, and, at its extreme, violence.
According to a video posted on the ReAwaken America tour website, the long list of speakers is drawn from “people who are at the forefront of the spear, running directly with President Trump on a daily basis to save this nation. “
Coming stone and Flynn, who were pardoned through Trump because of Russian election interference; Stella Immanuel and Simone Gold, doctors who defied vaccines that warned against pathogenic extraterrestrial DNA (Immanuel) and entered the construction of the U. S. Capitol. The U. S. Uprising of January 6, 2021 (Gold); and Scott McKay and Gene Ho, who have ties to QAnon’s false conspiracy theory about a global network of pedophilia and sacrifice run by prominent Democratic politicians.
In another tweet, Japanese Breakfast, formed in 2013 in Philadelphia, wrote: “This is a picket line that we and we don’t have to cross. Unfortunately, we can’t move the occasion to another place this time, but we love it. “Rochester and I’m sure we’ll be back soon. “
Rochester-based touring actor Joywave, who in the past played at Armory at most recently in 2016, weighed in on Japanese Breakfast tweets and wrote, “To get on this: we contacted Armory directly and heard nothing in return. If the Reawaken America Tour goes as planned, we might not bet on it in the future. I’ve heard from some agents that the scenes feel the same way about hiring their artists there as well.
The ReAwaken America tour made at least a dozen stops across the country. The Rochester event would be the first and one in the Northeast.
