Car generation company Rivian this week opened three fast-charging sites for cars in California and Colorado.
Part of a national “adventure network,” electric vehicle chargers lately supply more than two hundred kW of power, allowing Rivian R1T drivers (and R1S SUV owners) to charge 140 miles of diversity in 20 minutes.
The first station was unveiled Monday in Salida, Colorado, with 4 Level 3 DC chargers (including a step option for self-celled trailer towing trailers), as well as 4 Level 2 Waypoint chargers, open to all electric autocellulars (not just the Rithrun brand) through the company’s cellular app.
Adventure Network’s Moment and 3rd sites are open to the public Wednesday in Inyokern and Bishop, California, serving popular sites such as Yosemite and Death Valley National Parks, Sequoia National Forest and Mammoth Lakes.
“We designed Rivian charging for the electrified adventure, and those early sites demonstrate how we are enabling drivers to succeed responsibly in some of the country’s most impressive herbal spaces,” Trent Warnke, Rivian’s senior director of energy and charging solutions, said in a statement. . . ” In addition to scenic or off-the-beaten-path destinations, our fast-charging deployment is designed so that certain travelers have points to recharge along major coast-to-coast transportation corridors. “
Rivian will continue to open Adventure Network locations in North America, with an initial purpose of 3500 fast chargers at six hundred locations. Taking further steps toward net-zero carbon emissions, the company has promised to adapt to charging with 100% renewable energy in an annual foundation and plans to launch renewable projects across the country.
