CHICAGO: A settlement was reached in a new lawsuit for $90 million in Facebook support, you may only be eligible, once you return, to collect some of the money.
The lawsuit, known as “Facebook Internet Tracking Litigation,” accuses Facebook of “improperly obtaining and collecting data” on non-Facebook Internet sites that display a Facebook “Like” button.
Facebook has denied wrongdoing, but still chooses to settle the case by going to trial.

If you haven’t filed your claim yet, here are some answers to some questions about the settlement for those who qualify:
You are eligible if you were a Facebook user in the United States from April 22, 2010 to September 26, 2011 and visited a non-Facebook site that displayed the Facebook “Like” button.
If you are unsure if you are eligible for a payment, you can request the release by emailing the settlement administrator at info@FBInternetTrackingSettlement. com, or by calling 1-844-665-0905.
The amounts of the individual agreements have not yet been determined. This will count on the number of other people filing a claim and being approved to get the settlement money. Legal and administrative costs will also be taken into account.
You will need to submit a claim form to be eligible for a payment. Anyone submitting a claim form valid until September 22, 2022 can get a settlement quote, if their form is approved by the settlement administrator. You can submit a claim form online or download and mail it to the settlement administrator.
You will have the option to get your payment by check or electronically through Zelle, PayPal, Venmo or direct deposit. You can also get a prepaid MasterCard.
A final hearing for the settlement of this case will be held on October 27, 2022 in San Jose, California. The hearing will determine whether the settlement is “fair, moderate and adequate. “
If the court approves the settlement, there may be appeals. It’s unclear how long an appeal would take.
Settlement invoices will be distributed “as soon as possible” after the court grants final approval of the settlement.

With less than other calls, settlement checks of $397 will be sent over the next 60 days to nearly 1. 6 million Illinois users who have filed claims.
