A security guard dies at the 2022 US Open

A security guard died after a fall at a Massachusetts country club that is expected to host the U. S. Open golf tournament.

The victim, David C. McConnell, fell from an unbeded terrace behind a tent sometime in the evening, the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office said.

The office of Norfolk District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey reported that colleagues discovered the 60-year-old’s frame the next morning, to the Boston Globe.

“Initial reports imply that he was running overnight at the site. Injuries and evidence at the scene suggest he may have fallen from a tent terrace that had no railings. OSHA intervened at the scene to open an investigation into workplace safety, ” the da. Workplace continued.

“The Country Club is deeply saddened by the tragedy of the previous day. Our mind and prayers are with the person and his family,” a Country Club spokesperson wrote in a statement.

Unfair gambling is not suspected and the state medical examiner will determine the official cause and manner of death.

The 122nd U. S. Open takes place June 13-19 at the Country Club.
