A new report detailing the load of mobile data in other markets around the world shows why internet usage in most of Africa remains low despite the development of broadband web coverage. The Global Mobile Pricing 2022 report, which surveyed 233 countries and territories, shows that five of the 10 most expensive countries to buy mobile data in the world are in sub-Saharan Africa. Mobile data is so expensive in those countries that 1GB costs at least $10, which is 250 times more expensive than Israel, the country with the cheapest data in the world.

Masdar and CPPIB among those with a stake in Iberdrola’s €1. 4 billion German wind farm: source

Abu Dhabi’s Masdar and the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) are comparing binding offers for a 40% stake in Germany’s Iberdrola offshore wind farm as part of a deal that will value the allocation known as Wikinger at 1. 4 billion euros, a source familiar with the matter said. Europe’s largest app is making calls with potential buyers of the wind farm’s minority stake, two resources said, and will pick a winner in the coming weeks. Iberdrola, InfraRed and EIP declined to comment, while Masdar and CPPIB may not. be immediately contacted for comment via Reuters outside of general business hours.
